Whisperer / Viskaren, 2025, is a homage to the zebra mussels, which in Sweden are seen as an invasive species and now thrive in our waters due to climate change and rising ocean temperatures. I am questioning the power structures in the rhetoric of naming something as ’invasive’, which points towards an individual species as the problem, when the focus should be on wider environmental issues caused by overproduction and geo-capitalistic societies.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Size: H. 86 cm x 28 cm in diameter
